Despite the terrible weather, we had a great turn out for our ‘Family Festive Fun’ event on Sunday, 8th Dec. 2019.
The children seemed to be having great fun at the activity tables with Ballintrillick Environmental Group Board members Ciara Barrett, Gayle Nagle and Ian Green and their assistants to make Christmas crafts, face painting, rolling, cutting and decorating cookies that were baked for the children to take away with them. Sligo Sudbury School sponsored the materials for Gayle’s Christmas slime activity. This proved to be a great success with children taking home 60 cups of slime!!
Whilst all the activities were going on in the hall and dining room, Pernille Burns provided a yoga activity for children and Lorraine Syron treated the children to multi activities through story telling in the lounge. Both ladies volunteered their services for our event so a special thank you to them. Pernille runs regular Yoga classes on Mondays for adults and Lorraine may be back at the Centre in the New Year with weekly classes so keep an eye on our website for further details.
Vendors were selling home baking, candy jars, arts, crafts, ceramics, flowers, Christmas decorations, jewellery. Cliffoney Country Market vendors were selling veg, jams, honey, hats, pottery, soap etc. so a great variety of products.
As part of a school fundraiser, children from St. Aidan's National School, Ballintrillick, were selling their beautiful calendars and their parents were selling home baking. The children treated visitors to some beautiful music playing their violins which just added to the day, so a big thank you to them.
