Frances Crowe in her studio
This is an exciting new workshop here at The Benwiskin Centre!
Frances Crowe is a fibre artist who works in a variety of materials, paint, collage, mixed media. She likes to collect materials such as wool, rope, cotton, and twist and weave them together to form individual, original works of art.
Frances says "The art of handwoven tapestry is many thousands of years old and, in that time the technique has remained virtually unchanged. What has changed and evolved over the centuries is the way in which the medium is used, the purity of its design and execution and the esteem."
Join Frances in this 2 day workshop here at The Benwiskin Centre on Saturday, 18th and 25th November 2017.
The course content will include:-
Learning how to put on a warp, weave plain, pattern, shapes, diagonal and curved lines.
Develop your own design and weave a wall piece or a functional object such as a shoulder bag or purse
The course starts at 11am, lunch break from 1pm - 1.30pm and finishes at 3.30pm both days. Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring your lunch with you.
These workshops are limited to 10 people so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. Fees can be paid online by clicking on the 'Book & Make a Payment' button below.
